Upland and Natural Flood Management

Natural flood management (or ‘Working with Natural Processes’) is an important part of the suite of solutions designed to reduce flood risk.

It involves implementing measures that help to protect, restore and emulate the natural functions of catchments, floodplains, rivers and the coast. Working with natural processes takes many different forms and can be applied in urban and rural areas. It may include rivers and floodplain management (river restoration, leaky barriers, off-line storage areas etc.), woodland management, run-off management and coast and estuary management.

We are also experienced in delivering upland management work, including planting of woodland, sphagnum moss and other vegetation, path and boundary creation and maintenance.
