River Clean Up Day with Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust
Thanks to the amazing volunteers from Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust who helped our Riverlution team clear the River Sheaf (near Tesco on Abbeydale Road) on Saturday.
We managed to drive away with a full van-load of rubbish from the river, including two adult traffic cones and a juvenile traffic cone!
The River Stewardship Company's Marty Lyon who helped supervise the river clean up day said:
'This is clear example of why people shouldn't throw traffic cones in rivers, as they will reproduce and make more and more traffic cones, further damaging the streams and rivers!.'
The work sees Riverlution and the Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust working together to support the local river community.
