Invasive Non-Native Species Survey - Environment Agency

Throughout the summer of 2018, teams of ecologists surveyed 450km of river for the invasive non-native species Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed and Floating Pennywort.

This work covered the Upper Don and Rother catchments, as well as the Lower Don and Upper Aire tributaries. We designed the survey and developed our own INNS recording app according to the client specifications and produced reports detailing the scale of the issue within each catchment. We have put in a tender for carrying out the management phase of this work and if successful, will begin treatment in the spring of 2019.
