Post flood event blockage removal - River Sheaf

Sep 19, 2022

The RSC are framework contractors for emergency conveyance issues in and around Yorkshire.

During the triple storm events of February 2022, a number of river blockages caused localised flooding. The RSC inspected and removed a number of blockages including this particular example on the River Sheaf in Sheffield.

The team used a mixture of manual and mechanical means to clear flume pipes which were restricting flow within the channel. The work was carried out within 48 hours under emergency procedures returning the watercourse to it's normal flow.

A number of these blockages occurred during this period and we were on hand to complete the work within tight timescales. Our site managers are experienced in delivering bespoke emergency clearances.
